Batteries:

The battery is the heart of your electronic cigarette and should be treated properly for a consistent and above all safe vaping. There are many doubts about the batteries, and we are going to try to explain in a very simple way the most important points without going into too many technicalities, so we don’t get anyone too confused.

Internal batteries:

As a rule of thumb if the battery can’t be removed from your electronic cigarette the security risks are quite minor since it is designed for the power characteristics of the device. The most important thing to keep in mind, is the type of charger that you should use according to the charging specifications of your electronic cigarette. As a rule of thumb, most electronic cigarettes and mods come only with a USB cable and do not include the wall adapter, "forcing" you to charge it via the provided USB on your computer with a slow charge. People have the tendency of unplugging the wall adapter from their mobile phone and using it to charge their electronic cigarette without first looking at the voltage or the charging amps. If your electronic cigarette charges at 5V and 0.5A, you should not use an iPhone, iPad or Android charger unless the specs are identical. The chargers of almost of all newer phones use fast charge, so we would be forcing 2 amps of charge through the e-cigarette instead of 0.5A. It will surely charge, but it is too much current for the specifications of the electronic cigarette, so there would be a risk of explosion if the lithium it contains is affected. This is not something exclusive of electronic cigarettes, any electronic device must be used with a suitable charger, but the press is quick with anything to discredit vaping so that the pharmaceutical and tobacco companies continue to bill as usual. So be careful! Disinformation circulates faster than information in the current times. We already have electronic cigarettes with fast charge, which are normally labelled with "2A or" quick charge ".

Conclusion/summary:

- Always use a suitable charger for each electronic cigarette according to its specifications (as a rule, do not use any charger that is just sitting at home).

Removable batteries:

Removable batteries are of many kinds, sizes and characteristics. The most commonly used are 18650’s (which are so called depending on the size: 1.8 cm wide X 6.5 cm high) although recently the 20700 and the 21700 have gained popularity. The most important thing about removeable batteries is not the capacity (how long it lasts between charges) but the high discharge amp (A) specs. It is imperative to use batteries with the enough amps according to the maximum power that your electronic cigarette reaches in a conservative way, to always be on the safe side. The removable batteries are the same as the internal ones so they should be charged depending on the type of charge of your electronic cigarette in the same way as internal/integrated. But we must be especially careful when choosing the most suitable for us depending on the power that our device reaches and the ohms of the resistance that we are going to use. We only sell the safest batteries where the discharge amps described in the battery are clearly read. We’d rather have less battery capacity but sleep peacefully knowing that nothing will happen in the worst-case scenario if someone inexperienced uses one of the batteries inappropriately.

We recommend using IMR 18650, 20700 and 21700 batteries with a minimum of 30-35 amps for most devices over 80W with 0.2-ohm coils. This is just a recommendation to give you a rough idea. I post below a table with the amps and voltage that must be used in each case according to the voltage / wattage you are going to use, but always use it in a conservative manner. Keep in mind that the discharge amps usually have two states, the discharge peak (the discharge limit of the battery or peak/pulse described on the battery i.e. 35A) that is usually the first second or two in which you press the power button. And the continuous current, which is the value where it can give you a current in a more continuous and stable way. Therefore, we recommend using the continuous current value as a reference to be on the conservative side.

Most advanced electronic cigarettes come with battery protections of all kinds, and if the battery is not capable of giving you the power you require, you will get a warning or error message on the screen of your device. You must take special care with removable batteries if you use them in a mechanical mod because it doesn’t have any protection or technology that alerts you when something goes wrong so it’s imperative you make your own battery safe calculations according to the ohms of the coil you are using.

It is also very important not to use batteries in poor condition or with the damaged heat shrink sleeve

Since it could create a short circuit inside your electronic cigarette or mechanical mod.

Conclusion/summary: You should always use removeable batteries depending on the power demand of your electronic cigarette or mechanical mod. Making your own safety calculations conservatively based on the amps needed depending on the watts being used and ohms of your coil.
